The Lincoln Farmers Market, Tucked Between the Cathedral and the Castle...

Everyone pretty much loves a farmers market, after all what's not to love? The smells, the stalls all filled with colorful and enticing bounty, the variety, the crush of people, the anticipation of what will I get?  It's all a bonanza for the senses, a harkening back to our gathering instincts, plus just being there makes you hungry.  But a market tucked in between a castle and a cathedral? I'm not sure it gets any better than this, at least not for me.

A feast for the senses, looking toward the Cathedral.

Looking toward the castle, with the Cathedral at your back.

So many people milling about, so many farmers and craftspeople selling their wares. Tucked between the cathedral and the castle, the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, and the products are high quality (many unique), local and thoughtfully crafted, harvested or raised.

Oh, lovely Saturdays! Looks like it's going to be a great one. And after we hit the High Street, shop a bit, have an early dinner, maybe a bit of music, we can skirt the night, and take a little walk to our favourite alley...

And Jonathan can have a dirty kebab, what were you all thinking?

  1. Stunning photos, love this post. It makes me long to go back to the UK and spend an afternoon in the Bailgate. Missing my home away from home right now! <3

    1. Won't be long till we're all back and you and I can cruise the shops along High Street, like we did back in the day. Great memories.
